GENDER DIVERSITY AS A DRIVER OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND PERFORMANCE AND HOW NETWORK SCIENCE CAN CONTRIBUTE TO IT

In the last few years, a series of scandals have brought gender inequality issues into the spotlight. Ensuring equal representation of both genders in the workplace should be a priority not only for sociological/ethical reasons but also concerning business performance and efficiency.

In this very special webinar, Chris Sampson, the Corporate Communications Director at BTG shared with the attendees why this fast-growing, global medical technology company invested in a project to understand the role of gender diversity through mapping hidden informal networks. He also talked about what BTG had hoped to get out of the project and what their next steps would look like according to the results.

To make this webinar even more unique, we had Orsolya Vasarhelyi, researcher and senior data scientist at Central European University, onboard as co-host, who was speaking about the difference in relationship patterns for men and women. She helped us understand the charts of the BTG survey about how men and women gain influence within the organization.

Leandro Herrero, CEO of The Chalfont Project, also joined the discussion to bring his extensive experience in large-scale behavior and culture change. Leandro is the mastermind behind Viral Change Mobilizing Platform.

András Vicsek, CEO and Co-Founder of Maven7 – OrgMapper moderated the event and talked with the guest speakers about how network science can contribute to a gender-diverse organizational culture.
